Which countries are in the Schengen Area?
The current Schengen-country list and why a trip across several member countries uses one shared short-stay calculation.
The European Commission's current visa FAQ lists 29 Schengen States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The count is shared across the area
For an ordinary short stay covered by the 90/180 framework, moving from one Schengen country to another does not create a separate allowance. A week in Spain and a week in Italy are part of the same relevant travel history. That shared calculation is the point most often lost when travellers count country by country.
The list is not a visa decision
Country membership alone does not answer every entry question. Ireland and Cyprus, for example, have different arrangements, and your visa, residence status, nationality or purpose of travel can matter. Check the entry requirements for the country you are visiting and the document you hold.
How Flags helps
Flags: Schengen Calculator helps organise a travel history so you can see the stays that may affect the shared rolling calculation. It does not determine which immigration rule applies to you. Start with the 90/180 rule and confirm official guidance before travel.

Flags helps keep a private record of travel days and plan stays. It is not legal advice, and border authorities make the final decision.
